We are proud to introduce your QLD representative for ADOA, Sam Charlton.
Sam Charlton began working in optics in November 1982 in Surry Hills, Sydney with an independent optometrist. She completed her Diploma of Optical Dispensing with the Guild in 1987, Dux of her year.

After moving to Cape York, QLD, establishing a business and raising her family, she re-entered the optical world in Cairns in 2000 working as an optical dispenser in 2 practices and as an optical dispensing teacher for QLD TAFE.

Leaving Cairns in 2012, she continued to mark assignments for OTEN while she runs the business she and her partner have in Cape York, Qld.
Sam has continually developed her optical knowledge & skills, and her business skills with qualifications in business, marketing, management and maintaining a current optical dispensing qualification.

Sam has a passion for three things relevant to her new role as the QLD representative for ADOA:

1. The profession of optical dispensing and the role and recognition of dispensers in practices

2. The success of independent bricks and mortar optical outlets in a changing world

3. The success and support of small business in regional and remote areas of Australia
